Paul Gaddis grew up in the Chicago suburbs, where he learned trombone from Dave Kublank and took lessons from Frank Crisafulli, Ed Kleinhammer, and more frequently Bill Hansen. He graduated from the Interlochen Arts Academy, where he studied with Dave Sporny and played in wide range of ensembles. Afterwords he was privileged to study and play under Gordon Halberg, John Corley, and Herb Pomeroy in a variety of ensembles in Massachusetts including symphony and pit orchestras, concert bands of assorted composition, jazz ensembles and combos, and chamber ensembles from a capella trombone to large brass ensembles and traditional wind ensembles.
Locally, Paul played extensively with the Federal Way Symphonic Winds and continues to play regularly in Quintessence, a brass quintet. He has also played in a selection of musical theater groups, trombone ensembles, and assorted classical ensembles including the Masterworks Choral Orchestra, the Rainier Symphony, as well as a handfull of big bands, and combos.
Paul is a founding member of PugetBrass and is currently treasurer. |
